It was an incredible tournament for the athlete who made his entire country proud with two Gold medals.

“I have never met anyone who would have experienced a similar feeling; it was a surreal moment (watching his son win 400m hurdles). I’m very happy for his achievement because I know how much he worked, I know how hard it was for him and how much he really wanted it,” said Winston, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Born in the USA, Rai tried his hand at cricket and American Football before coming on the track and field. He was also a part of the Tokyo Olympics 2020, where he was second in the event, with Norway’s Karsten Warholm claiming the gold. Winston Benjamin hails from Antigua and played 21 Tests and 85 ODIs between 1986 and 1995, taking a combined 161 wickets.

West Indies cricket team comes down to ninth position in WTC points table

After a clean sweep against England and drawing the 1st Test match against South Africa, West Indies have come down to the ninth position in the WTC points table. They have one win in eight matches, and their win percentage is 20.83. Hence, they are on the verge of losing their chances of playing in the WTC Finals.

India is leading the table with six wins out of nine games with a win percentage of 68.52. Australia is in second place with eight wins in 12 games. Now, to qualify, West Indies will have to win all of their upcoming matches, and the other teams will have to lose. A lot of calculations will come into play but unofficially they are out of the WTC Finals.
