For the upcoming U-19 cycle, Cricket Australia has added Vishwa Ramkumar, of Indian origin, to their squad for the all-format tour against India in September. Three ODI games and two four-day games will be played between the two nations in total. The World Cup cycle is starting for Australia, and they have already started preparing. Previously, in the 2024 U-19 World Cup, India's U-19 team lost against Australia's U-19 in the finals.

Ramkumar plays cricket for Victoria in age-group cricket and with the Dandenong Cricket Club at the club level. Australia have announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming India tour, including players from the previous U-19 World Cup 2024 team. Ramkumar will continue the legacy of Harjas Singh and Harkirat Bajwa, who represented Australia in the U-19 World Cup 2024.

"It is exciting to commence a new World Cup cycle and provide the next generation of emerging talent with the opportunity to represent Australia at the international level. The upcoming India tour will give a new squad of players the chance to play a multi-format series and challenge them to adapt to different conditions outside of Australia," said Sonya Thompson, Cricket Australia's Head of National Development.

Senior Indian team to travel to Australia for 4-match Test series

As India's upcoming Test cycle is about to start against Bangladesh in September, the Men in Blue are set to lock horns against the stronger competitors in the upcoming months. After the Bangladesh tour, India will play against New Zealand from October 16. While the WTC cycle is going on, each and every game is crucial even though India are at the top of the table.

Their next big assignment is the 5-match Test series in Australia starting from November 22. It will be the most important one since Australia is right below India in the points table, and a defeat against the hosts will cost India the WTC Finals. Since England has won three back-to-back games against West Indies, their points have increased, and they have also jumped up in the points table. Hence, the upcoming Test matches will be extremely important for all the teams at the top.
