'It is very important that MI’s combination...' - Former CSK batter warns MI of 'Jasprit Bumrah concern' ahead of campaign opener in IPL 2025

The two most successful teams in the history of the Indian Premier League, are set to take on each other in the highly anticipated third game of the ongoing IPL 2025. The El Classico of the Indian Premier League will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, March 23, at 7:30 PM (IST).

Meanwhile, there is also a headache to deal with for Mumbai Indians and it is the injury concerns with their star pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. He is expected to miss a few matches at the beginning of the Indian Premier League 2025. He is currently going through the recovery phase at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. 

The 31-year-old sustained this back injury in the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia. It also led to his absence from India’s squad that lifted the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title.

“I’d say it’s going to be difficult” – Kedar Jadhav on Jasprit Bumrah

Meanwhile, the former India and CSK batter, Kedar Jadhav came up with a warning tone for Mumbai Indians to deal with the injury concern of Jasprit Bumrah and address it on a priority basis.

“First of all, they need to play much better than CSK, and since CSK is playing at their home ground, they definitely have the upper hand. It is very important that MI’s combination is fixed from the very first match. They shouldn’t repeat what happened last year when things didn’t go so well, because they don’t have much time for trial and error. So, I think they should field their best eleven right from the start,” said Jadhav to India Today on the opening day of the India Premier League 2025.

“But when you look at Jasprit Bumrah, I doubt he’ll be available from the first match. So, given MI’s streak, instead of talking too much about it, I’d say it’s going to be difficult because beating CSK in Chennai is one of the most difficult tasks for any team,” he added later.
