Team India ended the day at 172/0 with an overall lead of 218 runs during the first Test in Perth. While 17 wickets fell on the opening day of the match, the second day was the complete opposite. Three wickets fell in the first session of the day and that too of Australia as they were bowled out for 104.
Irfan Pathan took to Twitter and posted a tweet which read “Itna jaldi to meri wife ka mood bhi change nahi hota jitni jaldi ye pitch badli hai.” (My wife’s mood doesn’t change as fast as the pitch has changed). The former Indian star took a screenshot of the pitch on the first day as well as on the second day.

While there was an admirable purchase of the wicket for the seamers on day 1, none of it could be seen on Saturday. Australian bowlers toiled hard but KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal batted well to frustrate the hosts. Pat Cummins tried every trick in the book but failed to get rid of India's solid-looking openers.
Jasprit Bumrah and Indian batters shine bright in Perth
Australia came into bat on the 2nd day with their overnight score of 67/7. Alex Carey was the first man to be dismissed on Saturday. The Australian wicketkeeper edged behind towards Rishabh Pant to give Jasprit Bumrah his 5th wicket. Carey scored 21 runs from 31 balls with three hits to the fence.
Nathan Lyon was batting on 5 when Harshit Rana decided to test the Australian spinner with a short ball. The ploy worked as Lyon fended awkwardly at the ball and was caught in the slips by KL Rahul. If India thought that they were looking at a huge lead, then Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood had other plans.
The fast bowling pair added 25 runs for the final wicket in 108 balls. Mitchell Starc scored 26 runs with his knock coming off 112 balls which is the most faced by any Aussie batter. Hazlewood hung around for 31 balls and was not out on 7. In the last over before lunch, Rana bowled a short ball which Starc tried to pull and Rishabh Pant took the easy catch.
When stumps were called, India were 172/0 after having faced 57 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was batting on 90 which came off 193 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes. KL Rahul was keeping him company on 62 runs from 153 balls with four hits to the fence. With three more days to go India are currently at the top of their game.
