The mega auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will occur on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. All franchises are set to let their purse loose and buy players to fill the slots in the squad. Since this is a mega auction, franchises will have a structure decided in their mind as to which player they should go after in the auction. Several franchises have retained just 2-3 players in their teams because of which they have a huge purse remaining for the upcoming mega auction.

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians have used their retention amount quite smartly. KKR went on to keep six players and now will enter the auction with 51 crores while MI will enter with 45 crores. MI have locked their best players, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Rohit Sharma, at decent prices. Now, they must look for talented players to fill the squad.

Punjab Kings is the franchise that has just retained two players, Prabhsimran Singh and Shashank Singh. They have shown their confidence and backed the performers of season 17, which is great. Now, PBKS will have to fill their squad with a whole lot of players of different natures, which will be extremely interesting.
