With the rising tension between India and Pakistan, reports suggest that the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 will be suspended midway. In the early hours of Wednesday, Operation Sindoor, which came as a retaliation to the Pulwama terror attacks, was conducted by the Indian Armed Forces.

Meanwhile, the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was also suspended, citing significant floodlight failure. Although there have been reports claiming that the match was abandoned due to security concerns. The players and the spectators were evacuated from the stadium promptly.

BCCI Vice President opens on course of action for the players' evacuation from Dharmashala

The BCCI Vice President has revealed the course of action for the evacuation of players from Dharmashala. He said that a train from Una is being arranged for players to return to safety. 

"We are organising a special train from Una, which is not far from Dharamsala, to bring everybody home safely. As of now the match has been called off and the stadium has been evacuated. We will take a call on the tournament's future depending on the situation tomorrow. As of now, players' safety is utmost importance," said Shukla as quoted by The Times of India.

Additionally, the BCCI is also reported to be in a meeting at the moment to decide the tournament's immediate future. It is understood that the IPL 2025 might be postponed immediately. 

Earlier in the day, the match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians was shifted to Ahmedabad from Dharmashala, keeping the security in mind. Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) secretary Anil Patel had confirmed the update.
