Replying to this, the Indian legend said, “It's deja vu. I was asked a similar question in a Jio Hotsar show; you will see the answer during the IPL. I'm not great when it comes to being in touch with people but yeah, certain times when someone needs you, you just drop in a message.”

What did Virat Kohli say after quitting Test captaincy?

Former India skipper Virat Kohli stepped down as the Test team leader after the 2-1 series loss away to South Africa. Kohli was replaced by Rohit Sharma in the longest format and led India to the finals of the World Test Championships in 2023.

During an interview, Kohli had said, “Let me tell you one thing: when I left Test captaincy, I got a message from only one person, with whom I had played previously; that was MS Dhoni. Many people have my number. On TV, people give lots of suggestions; people have a lot to say. But none of the people who had my number sent me a message.”

Virat Kohli had led India in 68 matches and won 40 games, coupled with 17 losses and 11 drawn games. The 36-year-old has the best record as far as Test matches are concerned. MS Dhoni led India in 60 matches, winning 27 and losing 18 with 15 drawn matches. It was under MS Dhoni that India became the world number one side in Test matches for the first time.
