SRH and RR are set to take on each other in the second qualifier of the ongoing IPL 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday. The match will be an all-important and do-or-die game for both teams to secure their spot in the Final of the tournament. Both teams are coming off with contrasting results in their respective last matches against KKR and RCB, respectively.

Meanwhile, the fans are also concerned about all the possibilities about what will happen if this highly anticipated second qualifier of the tournament between SRH and RR gets washed out.

Having said that, here we’ll have a look at all possible scenarios for ‘Final Qualification’ for both teams if the 2nd qualifier gets washed out due to rain or unfavourable weather conditions.

The First Solution, if it gets washed out on the scheduled date

It has been decided that the authorities will take all the possible measures to get the match concluded on the pre-scheduled date. For that, a time cushion of 120 minutes will be there beyond the allowed period for this game. If it will not be possible even in the 120 overs to get the match concluded, then it will be rescheduled to the reserve day, i.e., on Saturday, May 25.

What if rain also spoils the reserve day, for SRH vs RR, Qualifier 2?

In case, the rain continues to play a villain on the reserve day as well and washes out the second qualifier, the winner or the second finalist for IPL 2024 will be decided on the grounds of their standing in the points table of the tournament. In that scenario, SRH will have an advantage as they finished in the second spot with a better net run rate than RR, who finished in the third spot. So, SRH will make it to the summit clash against KKR in Chennai on May 26.

Weather update from Chennai

However, apart from all the scenarios, looking at the weather in Chennai, it is looking quite good as the chances of rain are very less at 5% while the temperature will be 37 degrees Celsius maximum and minimum up to 29 degrees. Humidity might be there at around 75%, providing the chances of a complete match without any disturbance.
