Royal Challengers Bengaluru were ousted from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season after their loss to Rajasthan Royals. It marked a sad end to the tournament for many RCB fans who had seen their team win six matches in a row to make it to the playoffs.
Virat Kohli who ended the tournament as the leading scorer took to his Instagram and posted a curious message. “Thank you once again to all the fans of RCB for making us feel loved and appreciated as always”
The former RCB skipper will be heading to the United States of America for the upcoming T20 World Cup with rest of Indian team. The above message though has confused a lot of fans coming on the heels of Dinesh Karthik retiring from IPL cricket.
Kevin Pietersen gives valuable suggestion to Virat Kohli
Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen has asked Virat Kohli to shift bases to another team. According to the former batting sensation it is time for Kohli to ditch Royal Challengers Bengaluru and move to his home team the Delhi Capitals. It is to be noted Pietersen has played and captained both the franchises during his time in the IPL.
"I actually think it should be Delhi. Delhi is the place where Virat needs to go. Virat can go away, and stay at home most of the time, I know he has a home in Delhi. He has a young family. He can spend more time there. He is a Delhi boy. Why can't he go back? Delhi are as desperate as Bengaluru” said Kevin Pietersen while speaking to Star Sports India
Citing examples of famous football players, Pietersen said that Virat Kohli moving to another team could help him win the title. “I think it's about time Virat thought long and hard. Beckham left, Ronaldo left, Messi left, Harry Kane just left Spurs and went to Bayern Munich, I have said it before and I will say it again -- the greats of the game in other sports, have left teams to go and seek glory somewhere else. When he has tried and tried so hard -- won the Orange Cap yet again and done so much yet again and the franchise fails again
