IPL 2024: Top 3 player battles to watch out for in the CSK vs RR match

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be playing their 'do or die' match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 61st game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. With the loss against Gujarat Titans, CSK lost their good net run rate and an easy chance to qualify for the playoffs being in the top 2 positions. However, they'll have to pull up their socks and give their hundred per cent in this particular match if they want to qualify.

After this match, they'll have one game left to play against RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Hence, this match is extremely important for men in yellow. On the other hand, RR's performance has been good throughout the tournament and they'll be looking forward to qualifying from one of the top 2 positions.

1. Sanju Samson vs Ravindra Jadeja:

Royals' skipper and one of the most experienced players in the IPL, Sanju Samson has been terrific in this season. He has played some brilliant innings and led his team to victory. CSK's Ravindra Jadeja is no less than a miracle man. He knows his game really well and executes perfectly. Samson and Jadeja have met a few times where the spinner has dismissed the batter thrice while Samson has scored 71 runs in 50 balls. Considering Jadeja's current form, this contest will be interesting to watch. 

2. Ruturaj Gaikwad vs R Ashwin:

Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has been in incredible form in this year's IPL. He is also in the 2nd position in the Orange Cap list. One of the best things about Gaikwad is the kind of shots he plays against both spin and pace attacks. However, Ravichandran Ashwin's season hasn't been impressive. Looking at Ruturaj's form, it will be interesting to see how he plays Ashwin as the off-spinner is quite smart and knows how to get breakthroughs even while having a bad season. 

3. Shivam Dube vs Trent Boult:

Shivam Dube is in a lightening form and has been smashing all the bowlers quite comfortably. The battle between Shivam and Trent Boult will be the best since Dube has played well against all the other pacers. Also, Boult is known for his fantastic bowling tactics against strong batters. Hence, both players will look to strengthen their record against each other which will lead to a good battle.
