The most anticipated Test series against Bangladesh is down the corner, but before that, the Indian team received a huge blow as star batter Suryakumar Yadav suffered a hand injury. While SKY has played just one game in red-ball cricket, he was hopeful for a magnificent return. Moreover, he was a part of the Buchi Babu Tournament and is in the upcoming Duleep Trophy squad.

With this injury, his return to the Indian team is at stake. While fielding in the ongoing Buchi Babu Tournament, Suyra got injured and left the field. Post that, there is no information about the injury or his further participation in the tournaments. But if he misses out on the upcoming Bangladesh series, some other player will get a chance on the Indian team.

Surya's fitness and form are the reasons why he hasn't played more Test matches for India until now. He is undoubtedly one of the best batters in the shortest format of the game, but when it comes to red-ball cricket, he struggled a bit. Hence, he hasn't been able to cement his place in the Test team. However, his consistent efforts could have been a perfect way to make it into the team but now that he's injured, he'll have to stay on the waiting list.

I want to earn that spot again: Suryakumar Yadav

Just like every other cricketer, Suryakumar Yadav wants a permanent place on the Test team in the future. He expressed his emotions about wearing the whites for a long time and hopes to make a comeback in the Indian team in the upcoming times.

"There are a lot of people who have worked really hard to earn their place and even I want to earn that spot again. I made my debut for India in Tests. After that, I got injured as well. There were a lot of people who got an opportunity and have done well too. They deserve that opportunity right now," Suryakumar said, as quoted by ICC.
