After registering a comfortable and convincing win in the recently concluded Women’s ODI Tri-Series in Sri Lanka, India have announced their Women’s squad for the upcoming white-ball tour of England, starting next month on June 28. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will play a five-match ODI series, followed by a three-match ODI series against England.
The team recently took on Sri Lanka and South Africa in a Women’s ODI Tri-Series in Sri Lanka. The Women in Blue managed to make it to the final of the tournament, where they defeated the hosts, Sri Lanka, by a massive 97-run margin to clinch the title.
Coming back to the India Women’s squad for the England tour, the core members of the team are the same, including the skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana. The squad will also feature the key players in Jemimah Rodrigues and the star all-rounders, Deepti Sharma and Sneh Rana.
Harmannpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodigues, Richa Ghosh, Yastika Bhatia, Harleen Deol, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Sree Charani, Shuchi Upadhyay, Amanjot Kaur, Arundhati Reddy, Kranti Gaud, and Sayali Satghare.

Just a few days back, after the tri-series win against Sri Lanka, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur raised her concerns on the injury of pace bowlers, considering India’s preparations for the upcoming home Women’s ODI World Cup later this year.
““We can never stop improving, lots of areas where we can keep doing better, be it batting, bowling or fielding. Our pacers keep getting injured; that’s something we need to keep care of. The coaches are working on it,” she added later.
