Notably, Shami has also been included in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England. The certainty of the pacer’s fitness to be included in the playing XI is still under scrutiny.

Meanwhile, the newly appointed Indian batting coach, Shitanshu Kotak provided a major update on Mohammed Shami’s fitness and other concerns regarding his availability for India in the upcoming assignments in the white-ball cricket.

“Pacer Mohammed Shami is fit. The call on when he will play will be taken by the team management,” Kotak was quoted as saying by News18.

The fans are also expecting Shami’s return to the field in the upcoming third T20I of the ongoing five-match series between India and England.

Shami made his return to professional cricket last year while representing Bengal in the Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy across two different formats. However, he is yet to be seen in action in international cricket in either of the formats.

“Just wait for a few more days” – Arshdeep Singh on Mohammed Shami

Besides the update from the batting coach on Shami’s fitness, young India pacer Arshdeep Singh also spoke about the recent turnaround of events in Shami’s fitness.

“Just wait for a few more days, and you'll get to see that bowling, and you’ll enjoy it a lot. The way the ball is coming out of his hand makes it look like the 22-year-old Shami Bhai is bowling again,” Arshdeep Singh was quoted as saying by India Today.

“Just yesterday, I was talking about the same thing with Shami Bhai because when he was bowling, the way the ball was coming out of his hand was amazing. With every delivery, you would say, 'Wow, how can such an incredible ball come out of someone's hand like this!” he added later.
