Shubman Gill has recovered from the neck stiffness he suffered before the 1st Test match against New Zealand as he was spotted practising in the nets after the game. India lost the Test match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Rohit Sharma's wrong decision at the toss and the team's poor batting performance in the first innings was the main reason behind this.

Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan's performance were the only positives from the game. Both of them played a magnificent knock, helping India get past the 100-run lead. Now that Shubman Gill is practising hard for the upcoming game, it will be interesting to see who he will replace on the team.

In the first Test match, except for KL Rahul, all the other players performed decently. He failed to score in both the innings, partly due to India's loss. In the second innings, New Zealand had to chase just 107 runs. It was an easy score, and they made sure they completed it before lunch.

Sarfaraz showed great maturity as well: Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma talked about Sarfaraz Khan and his performance during the 1st Test match against New Zealand. As the pitch was playing the trick, Sarfaraz played maturely and handled the pressure well after Virat Kohli's wicket. He complimented Rishabh Pant's batting during the 2nd innings. It's a huge plus point for the team to have two fearless batters in the middle order which might help them in the upcoming series.

"Sarfaraz showed great maturity as well. He is only playing his 4th Test match and to show that kind of maturity and very clear in his mind what shots he wanted to play," said Rohit Sharma at the post-match presentation.
