Former Indian Premier League (IPL) cricketer Sreevats Goswami has put out a scathing post after the heinous attack on civilians in Pahalgam. The former Under-19 World Cup winner has urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to snap cricketing ties with Pakistan via his social media post.

Goswami took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a post which read, “Say No To Cricket! And this is exactly why I say – you don't play cricket with Pakistan. Not now. Not ever. When BCCI or the government refused to send India to the Champions Trophy in Pakistan, some had the audacity to say, 'Oh, but sport should rise above politics.'"

In his post, Goswami also called attacking innocent Indian civilians a ‘national sport’. The former India U-19 World Cup winner also wrote, “And if that’s how they want to play, then it’s time we respond in a language they understand. Not with bats and balls. But with resolve. With dignity. With zero tolerance”

The post also read, “I’m furious. I’m devastated. Just a few months ago, I was in Kashmir for Legends League. I walked through Pahalgam, met the locals, and saw hope returning to their eyes. It felt peace had finally found its way bac”k. Many former and current day cricketers have posted their anguish over the attack that took place on Tuesday.

Mohammed Siraj shares heartfelt post

Veteran Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj has expressed his pain over the heinous attack in Pahalgam. The 31-year-old posted a message on social media and also a picture which read ‘All Eyes on Pahalgam’. Siraj shared a post on social media which read, “Just read about the horrific and shocking terrorist attack in Pahalgam. To target and kill innocent civilians in the name of religion is pure evil. No cause, no belief, no ideology can ever justify such a monstrous act. Yeh kaisi ladai hai jahan insan ki jaan ki koi keemat nahi?”

Siraj also wrote, “I can't even begin to imagine the pain and trauma the families must be going through. May the families find the strength to survive this unbearable grief. We are so sorry for your loss. I hope this madness ends soon and these terrorists are found and punished, without mercy."

Mohammed Shami was yet another player to voice his sadness following the attack and wrote, “I am deeply saddened to address the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam. This heinous act has resulted in significant loss of innocent lives and has left families shattered. Such violence not only targets individuals but also undermines the fabric of our society."
