Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is set to return to Ranji Trophy cricket on Thursday. Delhi is getting ready to take on Railways in the final game of the group phase match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Pratham Singh, who is leading the Railways cricket team, was speaking to PTI ahead of the game and revealed his strategy against Virat Kohli.

Pratham Singh said, “It's more of an inspiration (that Virat Kohli is playing) and we'll be more motivated to do better because there will be a lot of eyeballs in the game. He (Virat Kohli) is the legend of the game so we will just focus on our strengths. I think if we'll bowl in the right areas, then it will be a bit tricky for the batsman to score."

Just like last week, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal played for Mumbai in the domestic match against Jammu and Kashmir. Other big names like Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant also played the penultimate round of matches. Jadeja picked 12 wickets in the game as Saurashtra beat Delhi by ten wickets inside two days. Kohli had missed the game citing ‘a'sprained neck’ but is set to play the match against the Railways.

Sitanshu Kotak reveals plans for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli

Newly appointed batting coach Sitanshu Kotak is keen to start working with skipper Rohit Sharma and batter Virat Kohli. The former Saurashtra star was appointed after India’s batting suffered during the recent tour of Australia.
Sports Tak quoted Kotak as saying, “See, Rohit and Virat are very senior players, but even the players we have now, it is a lot more about sharing, a lot to try and understand how they are planning their game, where they think and then if we can add something, that is how I think.”

The former domestic batting great also added, “If I can add value to 2%, 5%, that is a great thing, because the amount of cricket they have played and the way they have performed, it would not be unfair to say. There might be a lot of things for me to learn from them.”

Kotak also said, “That is the way this game goes; you have to be open and you have to be ready to learn. If they are in a mindset, during that point of time, if they are ready to take any inputs, yes, I would have certain things in my mind and I will say it, but it has to be at the right time, and they should feel that they are ready for that.”
