The drop-in pitches at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York, have received many complaints regarding the uneven bounce on the pitches and also due to the slow outfield. After a series of low-scoring matches and various injuries happening to players, including India's skipper Rohit Sharma, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has lodged an unofficial complaint against the drop-in pitches and the outfield.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken the complaint seriously. It is in a desperate attempt to 'remedy' the pitches before the India vs. Pakistan match, as the officials don't favour relocating the game at such short notice. In a recent statement by ICC, they acknowledged the criticism going around the pitches and assured the boards that they would take the matter seriously.

"The world-class grounds team have been working hard since the conclusion of yesterday’s game to remedy the situation and deliver the best possible surfaces for the remaining matches," read the statement.

As reports surface around, the ground staff is working on removing the grassy veins from the pitches, which is the reason behind the uneven track. Moreover, the organizers are levelling the pitches using a roller to push back the grass veins and flatten out the surface. This process will help the ball to hit the surface flatter and play better.
