Former England skipper Michael Vaughan was a guest on the Club Prairie Fire Podcast show with Adam Gilchrist. During the podcast, the former England skipper was asked about a dream scenario. When asked what would he do if Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and MS Dhoni were in the same IPL team.

The hosts of the podcast asked if the trio played in the same team whom Vaughan would play, sell and warm the bench. Then former England skipper said “I would play MS Dhoni. I don’t think anyone’s been better. Virat doesn’t find a place in the team. MS is the captain so he is playing.”

Vaughan also went on to state “What was the other thing? Selling? I’m getting rid of Virat. I will get rid of him because he has never won the IPL. Rohit is a six-time winner. MS how many? Five! So I’m playing MS, selling Virat, what was the other one? Yeah, so Rohit is my substitute for MS”

Michael Vaughan reveals reason behind the move

The podcast's host asked why would he sell the former Indian skipper, to which Vaughan said “I Can get a good load of cash for him. He will go somewhere else for a huge amount of money, that will be good bit of business”. To which Adam Gilchrist replied “That’s well though through. You are splitting hair. It is tough on all but that’s the job of manager isn’t it”

Virat Kohli failed to get going with the bat in the opening game against Bangladesh in Chennai. With scores of 6 and 17, Kohli has seen his inconsistent run with the bat continue in the longest format of the game. The last time Kohli scored a century in Test cricket was in Port of Spain against West Indies.

The second game of the series begins on Friday in Kanpur. India won the first Test match in Chennai on Sunday by a massive margin of 280 runs. If India win this game they will be just three wins away from making their top two spot in the World Test Championships table secure.
