The young Indian batting sensation Nitish Kumar Reddy has awed everyone with his ‘century to be remembered for years’. Reddy smashed this much-needed ton for the visitors when all of the top batters failed to deliver against the Aussie bowling attack in the ongoing Boxing Day Test at the MCG in Melbourne.

Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy has also silenced his critics and made them switch or revise their opinions about him. One of the top names in these critics is former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar, who probably wants to look ‘different’ with his opinions in another direction from what other experts and former cricketers feel.

Nitish Kumar Reddy shuts Sanjay Manjrekar with a sensational 'century' reply

Just before the Boxing Day Test started, Manjrekar advised management to drop Reddy from the playing XI for the fourth Test. The former batter also felt that the 21-year-old was ‘disturbing the balance of the team’.

“There is no doubting the potential this guy has and how brilliantly he's played. But can we get a hundred and twenty from somebody who bats at number eight? And it's not at this stage a bowler will get a seven-wicket haul as Shardul Thakur did. And let's not forget the last two series wins that India had in Australia, they didn't have somebody like a Nitish Kumar Reddy,” said Manjrekar to ESPNCricinfo before the start of the Boxing Day Test.

However, the tables have been turned just within four days from Manjrekar’s last statement about the Hyderabad youngster. The right-hander cleared Manjrekar’s doubts with an outstanding and unforgettable century at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on the third day of the Boxing Day Test.

This amazing knock by Nitish Kumar Reddy made Manjrekar take his words back and say, “At the start of BGT, I thought Nitish Kumar Reddy was disturbing the balance of the Indian team, but now he's perfect for this Indian team, and he played one of the Finest Hundred for India. He's brilliant in all departments, front and backfoot.”
