The eliminator game of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 turned into drama due to the interruption of light. It started when Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) were batting in the 19th over. The game was halted for a few minutes because a light tower was clonked off. The wait was on but the light didn't get restored and it was dark. While the other three towers were working, it still looked dark. Hence, the umpires found it reasonable to stop the game for a while.
The wait became longer than expected and overs started getting cut on the process. The DLS method was imposed and the Barbados Royals had to chase 60 runs in five overs. However, the twist was TKR's qualification scenario. If the game was abandoned due to any reason, TKR would have qualified for the QF 2. On the contrary, the game continued and the Royals won by nine wickets.
This didn't sit well with Andre Russell who did work hard throughout the tournament to bring his team to this level. Hence, he took to Instagram to vent out against the CPL organisers for not cancelling the match due to bad light.

David Miller's thrilling half-century helped the Royals proceed to QF 2
When the Royals came down to bat with a target of 60 runs, victory seemed to be a bit far. Moreover, they did lose their best batter Quinton de Kock in the very first over. Then walked in David Miller. He wreaked havoc on the bowlers, quite literally, and took his team to the quarter-finals.

A blistering half-century in 17 balls included three boundaries and five huge sixes over the bowler's head. In the 3rd over he scored 17 runs off Chris Jordan which almost ended the game for TKR. Royals needed just eight runs in six balls when Miller hit two huge sixes and won the game for his team. Later, he was given the Player of the Match award for his stunning performance.
