India are comfortably sitting at the top position in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 points table. They still have 10 more matches to play, including the series with Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Australia, and if they manage to win all of them, there is a high chance they'll finish at the top of the table. The Border-Gavaskar trophy will be crucial for India since the matches will be in Australia, and the hosts are waiting to crush the Indians' WTC 2025 dreams.

On his YouTube channel, former cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra made some analysis on India's chances of qualifying, and it seems like he has full belief in the team. He said, "I feel our place in the final will be secured even if we win one or two matches in Australia, provided we do well at home against Bangladesh and New Zealand and it's better if we don't drop matches there."

Australia haven't laid their hands on the BGT for a decade now, and that's one of the reasons why the hosts are pumped up to face India in their own backyard. That would give them a slight edge on the conditions and help them clinch victory. However, the Indian team is quite strong in the presence of senior batters like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, as they have the ability to change the game's momentum at any stage.

Talking about Australia, Aakash said, "The defending champions Australia are very strong contenders. Australia still have two series left. One is against us, which will have five Tests, and the second is against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. Their place at Lord's will be secured if they beat us 4-1. If they win all seven Tests, their maximum point percentage will be 76.3%."

New Zealand's road is slightly tough in WTC: Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra also gave some clarity regarding New Zealand's selection chances, as they'll be touring India in October. The Test series will be important since they just have eight matches left in the WTC cycle, which won't be easy. But New Zealand are already in third place, and if they manage to win all of their matches, they'll make it to the finals ahead of India and Australia.

"New Zealand's road is slightly tough. They have eight matches left. The problem is that they will have to play the first two Test matches against Sri Lanka in Galle, that won't be easy. If they came out from there, they have to play three against India, and then three Tests in the end at home against England," added Aakash Chopra.
