Former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma opened up about his thoughts on the newly included Impact sub-rule where a player can come into bat or bowl and will rest for the rest of the innings. This rule stops the players from fielding which is a huge disadvantage for the all-rounders looking to secure a place in the T20 World Cup 2024 squad.

"I am not a big fan of the Impact sub-rule. It is going to hold all-rounders back, eventually, cricket will be played by 11 players, not 12 players. Guys like Dube & Sundar aren't getting to bowl," said Rohit.

Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar are all-rounders who can bat and bowl as well in times of need. However, due to this rule, the teams are using them for either batting or bowling which isn't beneficial for them at all. Since the selectors are looking at the players ahead of the World Cup, this rule might take away their chance of being a part of the World Cup squad.

'It will be hard to convince MS to come to West Indies I guess...' Rohit Sharma jokes about inclusion of MS Dhoni in World Cup team

MS Dhoni's current form is a pleasure for the fans to watch. In the match against the Mumbai Indians, Dhoni faced four balls and scored 20 runs which was impactful for CSK as they won the match by 20 runs. This season he's been in a different form and hence, Rohit Sharma jokingly said during an interview that convincing Dhoni to come back from retirement might be tough.

"Dhoni came to bat for just 4 balls, made a huge impact and that was the difference at the end -- it will be hard to convince MS to come to West Indies I guess, but he is coming to the US as he is into Golf these days," said Rohit.
