'I am ahead of the trend' - CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad's unique way of showing love for MS Dhoni goes viral

The world is well aware of the bond shared by India's star batter, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and former CSK captain MS Dhoni. Now that MSD has passed on the baton to his successor, Gaikwad, their bond has increased even more. In the IPL 2024, Gaikwad was seen leading the CSK attack in the entire season and ended up in the fifth position. Now he's a part of India's playing 11 in the ongoing 5-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. 

Recently, he posted a picture of his India cap with the number 88. This means he's the 88th player to have played for India. He took to Instagram to show his love for MS Dhoni by adding the numbers on the cap with a cute caption saying, 'I am ahead of the trend'. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad is a classic player who plays orthodox cricket. His batting is absolutely clean, and he hits the bowlers with ease. Along with his batting, he's a very responsible batter who doesn't throw away his wicket. Now that he's the captain of the CSK team, he has become even more hard-working and puts in effort wherever necessary. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad shows classic performance against Zimbabwe

CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad is a part of the Indian team now, which has been to Zimbabwe to play a 5-match series. Gaikwad was excellent with the bat in the first three games, scoring 7, 77, and 49 runs. In the last two matches, he thrashed Zimbabwe's bowling attack from one end, which helped India get to good targets. 

Gaikwad's flexibility in bats at every position is another important thing. While he's an opener by choice, he batted at No. 3 in the first two games, and then in the 3rd game, he came down to No. 4. This quality will keep him longer in the team if he continues to score more runs in the upcoming series.
