The spin wizard of India, Varun Chakaravarthy, has done quite well in the T20Is. He played against England and claimed 14 wickets in five matches. Former cricketer Irfan Pathan praises Varun for his impressive bowling and hopes that he will do the same in the upcoming games. He mentioned that there is a difference between T20I and ODI cricket, and his bowling will be evident in the longer format.

"One-day game has a different pace than T20. In the shorter format, batters generally force the pace, so mystery spinners come into play a lot more than in 50 overs. One thing for sure, Varun Chakravarthy was in the heads of English batters during the T20 series. I’ll be very interested to see how he goes about his work in the 50-over format," wrote Pathan on X.

Varun made his debut in ODIs against England in the second game in Cuttack. He received his cap from Ravindra Jadeja. In the ongoing game, he claimed the first wicket in ODIs and also for India as well. He gave a brilliant breakthrough in the game by dismissing Phil Salt in the 11th over.

Ben Duckett and Joe Root make amazing partnership in second ODI against India

In the ongoing game against India vs England, Jos Buttler won the toss and chose to bat first. When England came into bat, they lost Phil Salt in the 11th over. However, Ben Duckett and Joe Root played brilliantly, scoring half-centuries against India. Duckett scored 65 runs off 56 balls, including ten boundaries, while Root is batting on 63 runs off 68 balls, as we write.

Harry Brook and Jos Buttler also made valuable contributions in the game, scoring in the 30s. They formed partnerships with Root before throwing away their wickets. This time, the English batters played with a lot of responsibility as they didn't lose many wickets, unlike the first game.
