Rinku Singh, India's one of the best finishers, was excluded from the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He is, however, in the travel reserves and will be with the team to the US and the West Indies. Due to the team combination, Rinku wasn't included in the team. After the squad was released, captain Rohit Sharma spoke to him, gave him some advice for the upcoming World Cups, and told him not to worry much.

"Rohit Bhaiya did not say anything special. He only said that just keep working hard. There is a World Cup again after two years. There is no need to worry too much. This is what he said to me," said Rinku Singh in an interview with Dainik Jagran.

Rinku Singh's performance has been extremely good throughout the entire season. While he didn't get much chance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 due to the Impact sub-rule, he played extraordinarily in last year's IPL. Even when he got a chance to represent India, he did make the most out of the opportunity given to him and played amazingly.

'Not selected despite good performance' - Rinku Singh's confession

After being excluded from India's 15-member squad, Rinku Singh was heartbroken. His performance throughout the season had been amazing and after that not getting a chance to represent the country did put the morale down. While talking to Dainik Jagran about his selection, Rinku opened up about how demotivated he felt initially, but then after talking to Rohit Sharma, he understood things and is now waiting for his chance.

"Yes, anyone feels a little bad if he is not selected despite good performance. However, this time I could not get selected due to the team combination. It is okay, one should not think too much about things that are not in one's hands. Yes, I was a little upset in the beginning. Whatever happened is fine. Whatever happens, happens for good," said Rinku Singh.
