Former Indian selector MSK Prasad has been in the news for his outrageous comments in the last few days on air during MCG Test. Prasad is in the news again this time for attacking Nitish Kumar Reddy. The youngster has been the find of the tour with his batting and his medium pace bowling.

MSK Prasad said “Nitish Kumar Reddy is creating confusion in Team India. He is not a complete batter and bowler and can’t win matches for the team with his skills. It would have been better to include specialist players”. Young Nitish Reddy was the best batter for India during the second game in Adelaide top scoring in both innings.

The former India player and selector had been critical of Rohit Sharma’s form during his commentary stint on Day two of the game. Prasad also questioned why Shubman Gill wasn’t picked for the game after playing the first three Test matches. Washington Sundar was picked ahead of Gill which left many fans surprised.

MSK Prasad questions Indian team selection for MCG Test

“I feel Shubman Gill should have been a part of the Playing XI in the fourth Test but it seems the management was more concerned about the batting part and including Washington Sundar. There was no need for two spinners, and Harshit Rana or Prasidh Krishna would have been a better option,” said MSK Prasad

Speaking about Rohit Sharma, the former selector said “We raised the topic about Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. Heading into this series, we had a three-match series against New Zealand. It was pathetic. Never happened in the history of Indian cricket that we lost back-to-back three games, and Rohit was totally sorted out”

“He had absolutely no runs in that series. And here, he didn’t play the first game. Bumrah led the side very well. So he comes after the backdrop of continuous failures," further added Prasad while speaking about India’s skipper. Rohit Sharma had scored 3 runs in the first innings of the game and his place in the side has come under fresh scrutiny after the latest failure with the bat.
