India's all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin is a class player when it comes to Test cricket. Be it batting or bowling, he does it all. Ashwin recently scored a blistering century in the 1st Test match against Bangladesh when India needed him the most. The top and the middle order shattered like a pack of cards, and it was Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja who handled the batting line-up like a pro.

After his terrific innings, former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja praised him for his batting and said that he doesn't get the credit he deserves as an all-rounder. Even though he's a brilliant bowler, his batting is top-notch as well, and he knows how to perform in crunch situations. This attitude is extremely important in a player, and Ashwin has it in him. He has done this multiple times, and as per Raja, 'he is a no-nonsense player.'

"He (Ashwin) has not been celebrated as much as he should be as an all-rounder. If you look at his record, he is not less than anyone. He is a no-nonsense cricketer, takes everything in his stride. Even when he is the 12th man or is out of the team, there are no tantrums. He understands the team's situation and his responsibility," said Ramiz Raja on his YouTube channel.

Massive win for us in the context of the WTC: Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin smashed a century in the 1st innings of the 1st Test match and claimed a fifer in the 2nd innings. Apart from that, he did pretty well in the entire series and won the Player of the Series award. While talking to the commentators, Ashwin mentioned the importance of the series victory against Bangladesh in the World Test Championship (WTC) context. Also, he gave credit to the bowlers for a brilliant display of skills throughout the series.

"Winning this game was important for us. Lot of bowlers contributed really well for us today. Massive win for us in the context of the WTC," said Ravichandran Ashwin.

It'd be interesting to see if he will be part of India's playing 11 against Australia during the upcoming Border-Gavaskar series. The 5-match Test series will be hosted by the Kangaroo nation, hence, the Indian team would like to include only one spinner in the team as the surfaces in the Australian conditions mostly favours pacers. And if we look at the past, India have made Ravindra Jadeja as their first choice spinner in SENA countries.
