LSG's sensational pacer, Mayank Yadav, made his dream debut for India in the 1st T20I against Bangladesh. His first over went for a maiden, and he claimed his maiden wicket in the 2nd over. His bowling was extremely impressive throughout the match as he maintained his line, length, and pace. The 22-year-old young bowler understood his assignment and played accordingly. The Bangladesh batters found him difficult to play at the start of the game, but later on, he did leak a few unnecessary runs in the end.

After the match, he had a chat with Jio Cinema, where he mentioned the advice he got from everyone, but he specifically talked about what head coach Gautam Gambhir told him before the game. Gambhir is an excellent person when it comes to advising talented young players, and he did the same with Mayank. He advised him not to experiment much during the game, making him believe in his own skills.

Mayank said, "Nothing extra, he asked me to stick to the basics and do the things that have yielded positive results for me in the past. He asked me not to think much about trying different things or even think that it was an international game. Following the process was the key."

He asked me to rely on my stalk ball: Mayank Yadav

Mayank Yadav opened up about his conversation with captain Suryakumar Yadav, and he advised him not to try out variations during the game. The 22-year-old went with the captain's instinct and did the correct thing but not experimenting much. His bowling was quite impressive, and the best part was his speed. He maintained a good pace throughout the game, and now he just has to keep himself fit in order to play more games in the upcoming future.

"I did bowl the slower ones in the IPL as well but not much. I had a word with my captain and he asked me to rely on my stalk ball more than trying out variations. But coming to Gwalior, the wicket didn't have much bounce so I changed my pace accordingly," said Mayank Yadav.
