Team India is getting ready to play the first T20I versus Sri Lanka on Saturday. Hardik Pandya, who was overlooked for the T20I captaincy, was involved in an argument with Abhishek Nayar. This happened when the players were taking their batting drills.

According to RevSportz who were present, there was a batting simulation drill. Pandya, who was in the nets, timed the ball sweetly towards the point area. The Indian all-rounder instantly claimed that it was a boundary.

Abhishek Nayar wasn’t in agreement after he claimed that there was an assumed fielder in that area. When Hardik Pandya asked him who the fielder was Nayar pointed to a person standing there who happened to be a journalist.

As the argument escalated, the two went to the reporter and asked him to be the judge. The moment of tension was broken when the scribe said, “If you have placed your fielder here then it was a boundary”. Hearing this Hardik Pandya and Nayar started laughing and resumed practice.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav were spotted chatting warmly as the team departed for Sri Lanka. The visual was heartwarming as the two stars could be seen chatting amicably.

During the press conference on Monday, Ajit Agarkar said, “Why Surya was made captain? Because he is one of the deserving candidates. The one we know has been around the dressing room over the last one year, you get feedback from the dressing room a lot. He has got a good cricketing brain and he is still one of the best T20 batters in the world."

The former Indian pacer also said, "You would want a captain that's going to be more likely to play all the games. We think he's a deserving candidate and hopefully, we'll see over time how he develops into the role."

Agarkar continued, “But in regards to Hardik Pandya, he's still a very important player for us and that's what we want him to be that player that he can be because those sorts of skill sets are very difficult to find what he has.”
