In the recently concluded press conference, India's head coach, Gautam Gambhir, and chief selector, Ajit Agarkar, made some positive announcements that made the Indian fans happy. Since the Test season is about to start, India will look forward to getting their prime bowler, Mohammed Shami in the squad, who was suffering from injury. Agarkar clarified that Shami is currently bowling and will be fit before the Test series against Bangladesh, which is positive news for the team.

“He (Mohammed Shami) has started to bowl. The first Test is 19th September (first test against Bangladesh). That was always the goal (him making a comeback by that time). Whether he can make it back to the squad by that (Bangladesh series) time, I’ll have to speak with the guys at the NCA,” said Ajit Agarkar.

The upcoming Test cycle will be extremely important for India if they plan to play the WTC Finals scheduled in 2025. India is leading the WTC points table, but their real struggle will be in Australia's tour, and for that, the entire team should be fit to travel to Australia. Hence, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami's availability will matter the most to the Men in Blue.

My relationship is not public: Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir, India's new head coach, was asked about his relationship with Virat Kohli at a press conference, to which he wisely answered that his relationship is not public enough for everyone to discuss. He also said that they are mature enough to handle their relations and now that they have to work together they'll make sure it will be in favour of the team.

“Good for the TRP, but my relationship is not public. What kind of a relationship do I share with Virat Kohli... I think it's between two mature individuals. On the field, everyone has got the right to fight for their own jersey and come back to a winning dressing room” said Gautam Gambhir during the press conference.
