Harbhajan Singh backs Virat Kohli to come good with the bat during Border Gavaskar Trophy

Former Indian star Harbhajan Singh has backed Virat Kohli to find his form with the bat soon. The former Indian skipper scored just 99 runs with the bat with an average of 33 and best of 47 during the recent Bangladesh series. Harbhajan Singh was a guest on Sports Yaari where he said Kohli will come good with the bat during the Australia series. 

The former Indian spinner said, "Virat Kohli bhara Baitha hai score karne ke liye and now he's going to Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy". Kohli scored 74 runs with the bat during the last tour of Australia in the Adelaide Test. 

Perth will host the first Test of the series starting on 22nd November. The rest of the games will be played in Gabba and Adelaide before the final two games will be held in Melbourne and Sydney. 

Harbhajan Singh surprised over Hardik Pandya not being given T20 captaincy

During the same show, Harbhajan Singh said that he was surprised that Suryakumar Yadav was given India’s T20 captaincy. The 44-year-old also said that “I was surprised. Upto some extent, I was (disappointed). He was your vice-captain when Rohit Sharma is not your captain then your vice-captain becomes the captain”

India’s former star also said “But if you tell him on fitness ground that you will not be the captain - there's no T20I cricket round the year. He came after winning the T20 World Cup and suddenly, it's a big setback for him. It's not right. I have great respect for Suryakumar Yadav. Phenomenal player, a great guy...very selfless. Even he wouldn't have thought that this would happen”

India and Bangladesh will begin their 3-match T20I series on Sunday. The T20 World Cup winners last played against Sri Lanka where they won the series 3-0. Hardik Pandya makes his return to the team after missing the ODI series against the Lankan side. 

During his appearance on Sports Yaari, Harbhajan also said “Rohit Sharma is a great Captain. He's a people's Captain. He is always there for every player. He is a great human being and very nice guy. Rohit Sharma is someone people loves him".
