In what seems to be a piece of surprising news for cricket fans, alongside the experts of the game, the Australian selectors called up the teenage batting sensation Sam Konstas to the national squad. Sam will be a part of the Aussie lineup against India in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
The 19-year-old’s selection as a top-order batter in the Australian squad has drawn a lot of reactions across the cricketing fraternity. He was recently in action for New South Wales in the Sheffield Shield 2024-25. In his last first-class appearance for NSW, Konstas played a brilliant 88-run knock, hitting seven fours and two sixes.
Meanwhile, the teen batting prodigy recently came up with his first reaction national Test callup. Currently, Sam is playing for Sydney Thunder in the ongoing Big Bash League 2024-25. He was in a conversation with the commentators during a BBL game between Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder.

“How did you find out that you were in the Australian Test Squad? And congratulations from all of Australia. There's so much excitement about you, mate,” asked the commentator to Sam who was ‘on the mic’ during Sydney Thunder’s batting.
“Thank you. I was actually in the nets and I got the call from George Bailey and he told me that I was in the Test Squad. So, I was so thrilled. I called my parents straight away. They were very emotional. Hopefully, we meet the team tomorrow and then go from there.” replied Sam with a bright smile on his face,” replied Sam with a bright smile on his face.
