Former India batter Gautam Gambhir is active with KKR as a mentor in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024. He is working alongside the KKR head coach Chandrakant Pandit who is known in the Indian cricket circuit for his ‘unique’ style of coaching both in domestic cricket and with the IPL side as well.

Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir recently came up with a clear-cut statement and opinion about the ‘coaching style’ of Chandrakant Pandit. Gambhir also explained Chandu Pandit’s style in his own words.

Just a few days later, the veteran Namibia cricketer David Wiese named Pandit’s coaching style as a ‘militant type’ of stuff.

“He (Pandit) is known in India as a very militant type of coach. He is very strict, very disciplinarian that type of stuff,” Wiese had said in a podcast.

“Sometimes in franchise cricket, when you have overseas guys, who’ve played all over the world, they don’t need anyone coming and telling them how they need to behave, what they need to wear and what they need to do the whole time. So, that was tough,” he added later.

"My working relationship with him has been very good" - Gautam Gambhir about Chandrakant Pandit

However, Gambhir denied Wiese’s allegations and came up with a different point of view while speaking about the same.

“I have not heard about any criticism. It's been early days, and my working relationship with him has been very good. Hopefully, it will continue that way. Whatever has been said, I have no clue about it. I think he has been pretty successful in first-class cricket, and that is the reason why he has got this opportunity. So far, it has been really good working with him,” said Gambhir.

“We’ve been working with him since last year. I think when you're working with a coach for the first time, you have to make sure that you adjust to their philosophy. There have to be rules. We are professionals. So, we don't complain,” he added later.
