Manav Suthar for his part heard to the advice from Ishan Kishan and bowled a straighter ball. Marcus Harris edged the ball that was climbing onto him as Kishan took a well-judged catch. Sai Sudharsan’s century lead the charge for India
India A came into bat on the third day with Sai Sudharsan batting on 96. Devdutt Padikkal was coming him keeping him company as the visitors were looking to post a huge total on the board. Sudharsan reached his hundred and showed the world why he is considered one of the best young batting talents from India.
Todd Murphy dismissed the left-handed batter to give Australia their first wicket of the day. Sudharsan was out for 103 runs after facing 200 balls with 9 hits to the fence. In the next over, Murphy got the wicket of Padikkal for 88 to deal early blows to the visitors.
Ishan Kishan kept the score ticking with a quickfire 32 off 58 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Seamer Fergus O Neill broke the back of India’s batting as he claimed 4/55 from his 24 overs. Nitish Reddy with 17 runs and Navdeep Saini’s 18 ensured India reached 312 runs to give the home team a target of 225 to win.
Mukesh Kumar struck the first blow when he went past the defences of Sam Konstas for 16. Cameron Bancroft scored 16 before he was dismissed by Prasidh Krishna who was caught by Sai Sudharsan. At stumps skipper Nathan McSweeney was batting on 47 with Beau Webster keeping him company on 19.
