India won their final Super 8 encounter of the T20 World Cup 2024 against Australia on June 24 by 24 runs. It was an excellent match for all the Indian cricket fans as Australia failed to qualify for the semifinals in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. However, after the game, former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq accused India of tampering with the ball. During the game, in the 16th over, Arshdeep Singh's ball was swinging, which was quite evident; hence, the former skipper questioned this movement.
"When Arshdeep Singh was bowling the 16th over, he was getting reverse swing. With a (relatively) new ball it is too early to get a reverse swing? Was the ball ready to reverse swing in the 12th over or 13th over? Because when he came to bowl the ball started reversing. Umpires ko aankhein khuli rakhni chaiye! (Umpires should keep their eyes open)," said Inzamam-ul-Haq on Pakistan's TV Channel.
India won the game fair and square by 24 runs and kicked Australia out of the tournament. Like always, Pakistan's critics and former players didn't handle India's success well. Thus, they are coming up with something to demean the Men in Blue and their efforts. With this win, India remains unbeaten in the tournament and has qualified for the semifinals.
India to play against England in semifinal 2
India are set to play against England in the semifinal 2 of the T20 World Cup 2024 on June 27 at 8 PM. While the match will be fun if it's not interrupted by rain, India will be looking forward to taking their 2022 revenge this year. England have had a rocky tournament so far while India are unbeaten.
They will look to maintain their winning momentum in the upcoming game, leading them to yet another final. India doesn't have a good record in knockouts so far, which will also haunt them in this semifinal. One piece of good news for Indian fans is the absence of Richard Kettlebourough from the official panel of the match. Hence, this might be the turning point of the match.
