Former RCB skipper and the modern-day batting great, Virat Kohli scored the first century of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024. He scored 113 runs off 72 balls with 12 fours and 4 sixes. However, some cricket experts criticized him for playing with a slow strike rate.

Meanwhile, the former Pakistan pacer Junaid Khan took to his Twitter (formerly X) handle. He trolled Virat Kohli for scoring the ‘slowest’ century in the history of the Indian Premier League since the tournament’s inception 16 years back in 2008.

“Congratulations Virat Kohli on the slowest 100 in the history of IPL,” wrote Junaid Khan in his X post, which he shared from his official account.

Here’s a look at the X-post shared by Junaid Khan for Virat Kohli:

Speaking of the action of the match between RR and RCB at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday, April 6, 2024. RR won the toss and asked the visitors to bat first; batting first, RCB posted a total of 183 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Former skipper Kohli and current skipper Faf du Plessis provided an amazing start to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, scoring 125 runs for the first wicket in 14 overs. None of the other RCB batters managed to get success against RR.

Nandre Burger and Yuzvendra Chahal scalped 1 and 2 wickets, respectively for Rajasthan Royals.

While chasing the target, the hosts Rajasthan Royals faced an early blow as they lost their first wicket without any run on the second ball of the second innings’ first over. But then came an amazing partnership of 148 runs for the second wicket between star opener Jos Buttler and skipper Sanju Samson.

Jos Buttler smashed a match-winning and blistering century, scoring 100 runs off just 68 balls, with 9 fours and 4 sixes, alongside Sanju’s 69 runs off 42 balls, with 8 fours and 2 sixes. These knocks helped Rajasthan Royals to chase down the target in 19.1 overs, scoring 189 runs for the loss of 4 wickets and winning the match by 6 wickets.
