England has won the much-needed contest against Oman in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. They have kept their hopes alive after chasing a target of 48 runs in 3.1 overs. Now, their net run rate has gone to +3.081, and if Australia defeats Scotland in their upcoming game, England will have to win their last match, and they'll be qualified for the Super 8. Phil Salt created history in the game against Oman by scoring two sixes on the first two balls of the innings.

He became the first person to hit sixes on the first two balls of a team inning in international cricket. However, he was dismissed by Bilal Khan in the third ball but ended up with a 400.00 strike rate. After his dismissal, Jos Buttler took forward the innings and scored 24 runs off 8 balls, while Jonny Bairstow scored 8 runs in two balls.

With a collective effort, England won the match and managed to win with a brilliant margin. Oman's batting order failed massively, as only Shoaib Khan went past the mark of 10 runs, and the others' scores were in the single digits. Adil Rashid claimed four wickets, while Jofra Archer and Mark Wood took three wickets each. Rashid was given the Player of the Match award for a brilliant show.

'Felt good to see that first ball turn so much' - England's Adil Rashid reveals reaction after bowling first over

After a fantastic match, England's Adil Rashid was given the Player of the Match for his four wickets. He only conceded 11 runs and bowled at an economy of 2.80, which is brilliant. Hence, he discussed his happiness after seeing the first ball spin while talking about his bowling. That's when he knew he might pick up a few wickets in the match.

"Felt good to see that first ball turn so much. Obviously getting a wicket first ball sets the tone as well. I tried to adjust in the first over or so. It was spinning quite a bit so it was hard to keep it in the wickets, that meant I had to bowl outside leg a little bit," said Adil Rashid at the post-match presentation.
