The Baz-Ball was in full flow as England took on West Indies in the second Test of the three match series. Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope created history when England scored the fastest ever Team 50 in the history of Test Cricket. The half-century mark came up in just 4.2 overs with the home team scoring at over 11 runs per over.
It was West Indies who won the toss and chose to bowl first. Zak Crawley was out for a duck in the third ball of the game before Duckett and Pope took control. Ben Duckett in particular was severe on each and every bowler as he smashed the West Indian bowlers to all parts of the ground.
James Anderson’s retirement opened the spot for Mark Wood to come into the team. For the visitors, Gudakesh Motie made way for Kevin Sinclair after the humbling loss in the first Test at Lord’s.

Put into bat, England lost Zak Crawley early for a duck to ignite hopes of a West Indian fight back. Ollie Pope scored the first runs of the game when he hit Alzarri Joseph for a four. The second over of the game was bowled by Jayden Seales.
The West Indian bowler began with a wide before Ben Duckett hit four successive fours. 19 runs were score in the second over as the score raced to 23 runs from just 2 overs. Ollie Pope then hit Alzarri Joseph for 12 runs with 2 fours in the third over of the innings to take the score to 35 runs from 3 overs.
Jayden Seales bowled a better 4th over as he conceded just 9 runs which included two boundaries. Ben Duckett took his boundary count against Seales with two powerfully hit fours.
The first ball of the 5th over saw Ben Duckett take two runs off Alzarri Joseph. The very next ball, Ben Duckett hit the ball powerfully past the square fielder to get England to fifty runs from just 4.2 overs. The fans at Trent Bridge stood up and applauded as the Three Lions scripted history in the longest format of the game.
