The much-anticipated India vs Pakistan game during the Champions Trophy 2025 campaign’s date is reportedly set. According to various reports, the massive encounter is likely to take place on 23rd February. Two venues, Dubai and Colombo, are in running to host the game after the hybrid model was agreed upon for the tournament.

As per the agreement between BCCI, ICC, and PCB, all of India’s matches will be played in neutral venues. Pakistan, in return, will not play in India during the 2026 T20 World Cup, with Sri Lanka set to host all their matches. The Champions Trophy is set to begin on the 19th of February with India in the same group as Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh.

It is believed that the final schedule for the tournament will be revealed in the next few days. After months of haggling, the tournament is finally set to take place, with Pakistan partially hosting their first ICC event in nearly three decades. If India makes it to the final stages of the tournament, the knockout phase will be held in a neutral venue.

Ahmed Shahzad takes sly dig at BCCI and PCB

Out of favour batter Ahmed Shahzad has taunted both BCCI and PCB after the Champions Trophy is set to be held in a hybrid model. Shahzad while speaking on a podcast said, “Build a stadium on the border. One gate should open in India, the other in Pakistan. Their players can come from there; our players can go from here."

The veteran star, while taking a dig at the Indian government and BCCI, also added, “But again, I think BCCI or the Indian government will have an issue. They'll say that when your player comes to the field on our side, we'll not give him a visa for that."

Taking an aim at his own board, Shahzad said, “Pakistan had a golden chance to host India. All cricket boards had signed the agreement in 2021 that Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy. ICC cannot back off; PCB has missed the chance, I think. We should forget that the Indian team will ever come to Pakistan now. Just forget it. The only way you could have brought India here was by an ICC event."
