The 28-year-old witnessed an amazing game as Real Madrid won a pulsating encounter with a 3-2 margin. Erling Haaland gave City the lead in the 19th minute as the hosts went into halftime holding onto their lead. Kylian Mbappe made it 1-1 with a key goal in the 60th minute of the game.

Haaland restored the lead for Manchester City in the 80th minute with his second goal of the game. Former City star Brahim Diaz made it 2-2 before English sensation Jude Bellingham scored the winning goal in the 92nd minute. The second leg of the game will be played at the Santiago Bernebau next week.

Ruturaj Gaikwad looking ahead to IPL for national recall

28-year-old Ruturaj Gaikwad last played for India during the five-match T20I series in Zimbabwe. The right-handed batter scored 133 runs from four games with an average of 66.5 and hit one fifty with a strike rate of 158. The right-handed batter hasn’t played international cricket since then, which has left many surprised.

His last match was for Maharashtra against Baroda, where he scored 10 and 89 during the Ranji Trophy season. Gaikwad had a woeful time with the bat during the Vijay Hazare trophy, where he scored 194 runs. Out of those 194 runs, 148 came in a single innings against Services in Mumbai late last year.

The 28-year-old will turn his focus to the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, where he will lead Chennai Super Kings. If Gaikwad can come up with a good season, then his chances of earning a national recall will get a massive boost. Gaikwad was given the captaincy last season after MS Dhoni decided to step down. CSK were eliminated on the final day of the group phase match to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
