Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday (June 21) announced the schedule for the upcoming T20I series. Team India will travel to the Rainbow Nation for a four-match T20I series in November 2024.

The KFC T20I Series will begin on Friday 8 November at the Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium in Durban. The second T20I will be played at St George’s Park in Gqeberha on the 10th and the third match will be held at SuperSport Park in Centurion on the 13th.

The players will then head to the DP World Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg for the final game of the series. Tickets for the matches will go live on 19th August.

India and South Africa have shared a fierce rivalry over the years in the shortest format of the game. However, the Men in Blue have a slight edge. Of the last five bilateral series, three ended in a draw while India won the other two. The Proteas men's last series win against the Men in Blue was back in 2015.

Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that when the two locked horns in the 2022 T20 World Cup, it was South Africa who emerged victorious by five wickets. Both have advanced to the Super 8 stage in the 2024 World Cup and may set up a stage in the semi-finals.

The Indian Cricket Team has consistently received immense appreciation and love from South African fans, and this sentiment is equally strong among Indian fans towards the South African side.

“I am confident that the upcoming series will once again highlight the on-field cricketing excellence and deliver enthralling, high-intensity contests," he stated.
