The Manuka Oval stadium in Canberra, which is currently hosting the India National Cricket Team’s pink-ball match against the Prime Minister's XI, was the scene of horrific preparations. The tourists were not provided with umbrellas during the downpour, according to reports by RevSports.
The team captained by Rohit Sharma is presently in Canberra practicing ahead of the second Test starting on 6th December. They were scheduled to engage in the practice match against the Prime Minister's XI of Australia for two days. The weather ruined the first day of the game, which was originally scheduled to begin yesterday, November 30.
When the Rohit Sharma-led team came to the stadium, they were not provided with the right arrangements. Due to the severe rain, the players did not receive an adequate reception as they exited the bus. The umbrellas were being held by the security personnel there, but the players were not handed them.
From the van to the dressing room, experienced players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had to go outside in the rain. The athletes can be seen hurrying to the changing room while attempting to shield themselves from the rain in the footage that has gone viral on social media today.
There was a danger that the Indian players would be hurt since they had to run on a slick route from their bus to the changing room. Fortunately, no players were hurt, and they made it safely to the changing room, but Cricket Australia's terrible setup has to be questioned.
Changes in practice match after first day gets washed out
Cricket Australia switched the warm-up game to become a limited-over match when the first day washed out. Now, the two sides will play a one-day match against one another. The Prime Minister's XI and the Rohit Sharma-led team will now play their 50-over encounter on Sunday, December 1.
In order to prepare for the second Test match versus the Australia National Cricket Team, this game will be played. The Adelaide Oval will host the game between the two teams. Beginning on December 6th, the pink-ball test will be administered.
