A massive development has taken place in Chennai. According to reports carried by Moneycontrol, India cements is set to sell massive stake of their IPL team. It is to be noted that India Cements has a massive stake in five time IPL winners, Chennai Super Kings. According to reports, there is no immediate threat to the former IPL winners. 

Ultra Tech Cement, which is owned by the famous Aditya Birla Group, is set to pick up further 32.27 percent of stake in India Cements. The famous business group already has picked up 22.27 percent of shares just last month. 

India Cements brough the Chennai franchise in 2008 and has made it one of the most successful teams. MS Dhoni led the side to five IPL titles and also two T20 Champions League title wins. The Chennai side enjoys a massive fan following in India and across the world. 

Chennai Super Kings future set to be safe

N Srinivasan has sold more stake in the India Cements company to Ultra Tech Cements. Chennai Super Kings is controlled by five entities. EWS Finance and Infrastructure has a 21.47% stake. 

The forrmer CSK boss N Srinivasan holds a stake of just 0.014 % while Chitra Srinivasan has a stake of 0.01%. For now the fans of Chennai Super Kings can heave a sigh of relief as the India Cements company doesn’t plan on selling the team. 

Ahead of the IPL 2025 season Chennai Super Kings will look to work on their team. The mega auction for next year could see close to 6 players being retained. The new team is set to be built around new skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad who replaced MS Dhoni this year. 

Meanwhile, the future of MS Dhoni and his future with the team is still up in the air. The 43-year-old hasn’t commented on his future yet. MS Dhoni had a brilliant IPL 2024 with the bat as he played some vintage big shots for the men in yellow. 

Chennai Super Kings who came into the season as the defending champions were knocked out of a potential playoff appearance by Royal Challengers Bengaluru. MS Dhoni played a valiant knock only to be dismissed by Yash Dayal in the final over.
