The second phase of group phase matches in the Champions Trophy will see New Zealand lock horns with Bangladesh. After the epic India vs. Pakistan battle, the focus moves to Rawalpindi, where the Black Caps will take on the Tigers. While Santner’s side will want to achieve a win and move into the semis, Bangladesh will hope to win and keep their tournament hopes alive. 

Bangladesh (BAN) began the tournament with a below-par showing in Dubai against India last week. The batting was in shambles at one stage with Bangladesh being reduced to 35/5 before the huge stand between Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali. The bowling was good for the most part, but KL Rahul’s dropped catch turned out to be a huge mistake. 

New Zealand (NZ) didn’t put a foot down wrong in their match against hosts and defending champions Pakistan. Centuries from Will Young and Tom Latham, then the bowling masterclass from William O'Rourke and Mitchell Santner helped the Black Caps win. Santner will hope for more of the same and will want to iron out the minor flaws, if any, from the first game on Monday against Bangladesh.
