Harry Kane finally ended his long wait for a domestic title as Bayern Munich clinched their 34th Bundesliga title over the weekend. Bayern Munich drew their game against RB Leipzig with an enthralling 3-3 draw that took Munich’s point tally to 76 after 32 games. Bayer Leverkusen, who were the closest challengers, had started the weekend with 67 points from 31 games and needed a win to keep their hopes alive.

Leverkusen, though, managed to come up with a 2-2 draw to hand over the title to Bayern Munich. There were widespread celebrations in the Bavarian camp having won the title with two matches to left. It was also the first time that Harry Kane had ever won a domestic or major title of any sort. Last year, Kane made his way to Germany after a long stint with Tottenham Hotspur and failed to win the title.

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been praised by Harry Kane as the two even posed for a picture together in 2020. Star Sports spoke to the English striker in 2022 when he was with Spurs. Kane was asked his views on Kohli, to which he said, “My favourite team is RCB, and I was lucky enough to meet Virat Kohli a few times and speak with him.”

Can Virat Kohli emulate Harry Kane’s feat?

In what is the 18th season of the Indian Premier League, the focus is on Virat Kohli to win his first domestic title. Royal Challengers Bengaluru are currently at the top of the IPL 2025 table with 16 points from 11 games. With one more win, RCB will confirm their spot in the playoffs.

The Kohli and Kane parallels have also hit the social media universe. Harry Kane is currently the top goal-scorer in the Bundesliga with a tally of 24 goals. Virat Kohli is leading the batting charts with 505 runs from 11 games with an average of 63 and a strike rate of 143.

Just like RCB has done in this season of the IPL, Bayern Munich have occupied the top spot for most of the season. The Bavarians have two games left in the season and will look to end the season on a high. RCB has to play three more games and will want to end the IPL 2025 group phase in the top two to have two bites at the cherry to make the finals. The world will be watching closely if Virat Kohli can turn on his magic with the bat and finally end the trophy drought and actually make it ‘Ee Sala Cup Naamde’.
