Pakistan stunned England yet again as they left the visitors tottering at 110/5 from 30 overs. Sajid Khan and Noman Ali picked all the five wickets as Shan Masood used spin right away. Joe Root who started the series with 262 in the first Test in Multan was out for just 5 runs.

Sajid Khan bowled a quicker ball that the former England skipper played back to. The umpire had no hesitation in giving the batter out. Root scored 34 and 18 in the previous Test match which was played in Multan. Both Root and Sajid Khan were involved in a huge battle of wits in the last game.

Earlier in the day, Ben Stokes had won the toss and chose to bat first. The visitors made two changes as Gus Atkinson and Rehan Ahmed came in for Brydon Carse and Matthew Potts. Pakistan came into the game unchanged after registering their first Test win at home for 3 years.

Pakistan spinners topple England’s batting order

Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley opened for England and added 56 runs for the 1st wicket. Shan Masood pressed both Noman Ali and Sajid Khan in to bowl with the new ball. The English openers didn’t look troubled as both Duckett and Crawley were scoring runs with ease.

Crawley was caught by Saim Ayub at point for 29 to give Noman Ali his first wicket. Sajid Khan then struck thrice to give a massive jolt to the England batting unit. Ollie Pope was going for a sweep and was adjudged LBW for 3 off 14 balls. Harry Brook heard the death rattle when he was bowled for 5 while going for a sweep against Sajid Khan.

Ben Duckett played well to score 52 off 84 balls with four boundaries and a six. The left-handed batter was out LBW to Ali to a ball that spun in sharply. At the time of writing, England skipper Ben Stokes was batting on 6 with Jamie Smith on 5 runs. Both Sajid Khan and Noman Ali had bowled 15 overs each.
