The T20 World Cup was on and we have been getting some interesting games so far. It has been a tournament filled with slow and low pitches making it difficult for the batters to play. The game between the Netherlands and Nepal was another such game. It was the Netherlands who won the toss and chose to bowl. Once again it was a pitch where the bowlers were enjoying with Nepal losing wickets left right and center and eventually getting bowled out for just 106 runs.
The Netherlands bowlers did their job and this time it was up to the batters to score the runs. This was not at all easy for the Dutch batters as they struggled to time their shots due to the slowness of the surface. Even the talented batters of the team failed to get going. There was also a moment when Nepal had a glimmer of hope of winning with big wickets of Sybrandt Engelbrecht and Scott Edwards falling early. Fortunately for the Dutch, the hard-fought half-century of Max O Dowd made sure the Netherlands got over the line with only 8 balls to spare.
Dutch bowlers shine on the day
This was a match where the bowlers completely ruled the day, especially the Dutch bowlers. All the bowlers had an economy under 6 and kept taking wickets in the middle. The spells of Tim Pringle and Logan Van Beek set the tone for the men in Orange where they took 3 wickets a piece and got great support from Paul van Meekeren and Bas de Leede who took a couple of scalps each at a great economy. This is one of those days where T20 cricket became a bowlers' game.
Though it was not the best of performances from the Netherlands who were a much better side than they showed today, you have to admit that they were the better side on the day. Though the Nepal bowlers fought hard to keep their team in the game, they were let down by their batters and their fielders who dropped two big catches which could have led to different circumstances in the match. This was still another low-scoring thriller that we enjoyed and we will have to wait and see what the tournament has in store for us going forward.

And With the current kind of batting, they wl lose badly against tough opponents.
nothing to be proud of about this performance. Just pathetic how they played. Would have been great if UAE were here
