A season full of controversies, statements, defeats, and disappointments, the IPL 2024 campaign of Mumbai Indians ended on a miserable note. Meanwhile, a lot of former cricketers and experts came up with a common opinion that could be the last appearance of former MI skipper Rohit Sharma with the five-time champion franchise.

However, the MI batting stalwart ended his IPL 2024 campaign with a very fine knock of 68 runs off just 38 runs, hitting 10 runs and 3 sixes, with a strike rate of 178.94.

In the same line of events, the veteran MI spinner Piyush Chawla came up with an Instagram post that went on to ignite the rumours of Rohit’s MI exit a bit more.

“Saved the best for the last, one with the legend Rohit Sharma,” wrote Piyush Chawla in his Instagram post in which he added a photo with the Indian skipper.

Here’s a look at Piyush Chawla’s Instagram post:

Speaking of the action of MI’s league match in IPL 2024 against LSG, it was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday, May 17, 2024. The hosts won the toss and asked KL Rahul’s men to bat first; batting first, LSG scored 214 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs courtesy of vice-captain Nicholas Pooran’s swashbuckling knock of 75 runs off just 29 balls, with 5 fours and 8 sixes following skipper KL Rahul’s 55 runs off 41 balls, with 3 fours and 3 sixes.

Strike pacer Nuwan Thushara and the veteran spinner Piyush Chawla scalped 3 wickets each for MI in the first innings.

While chasing the target, the former skipper Rohit Sharma and the lower-order batter Naman Dhir played the blistering knocks of 68 and 62 runs off just 38 and 32 balls, respectively. However, these knocks went in vain Mumbai Indians were restricted to the score of 196 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the entire 20 overs and lost the match by 18 runs.
