England's team has always taken pride in having the best players in the world who know how to deal with all the formats. Hence, they've often come up with comments demeaning the other players or teams. In early 2024, England came on a tour to India to play a 5-match Test series where the hosts won the series single-handedly, 4-1.

After the conclusion of the series, opener Ben Duckett gave a statement on the Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal for his aggressive batting during the series, which didn't sit well with the fans and the critics, including former English batters Nasser Hussain and Michael Vaughan. Now, before the Sri Lanka series, Duckett has come up with another statement praising Jaiswal for his approach.

"It was actually me paying him a nice compliment. I’m pretty sure I said he was a world-class player, but no one spoke about that. Would I have said what I did during the fifth Test? No, because he played like that throughout the whole series, and he was incredible," said Ben Duckett during an interview.

I don't know if that is a viable option: James Anderson

James Anderson, the 42-year-old, has retired from international cricket and now wants to give a chance to franchise cricket. Until now, Anderson hasn't played a single franchise cricket match and is hoping to try his hand at the worldwide leagues. He got this idea after watching The Hundred and also believes that his fitness will allow him to do so.

"I watch the Hundred and see the ball swinging around in the first 20 balls and I think: 'I can do that, I can still do that.' I don't know if that is a viable option, to maybe see if I could do a job in white-ball cricket. Franchise cricket is something I've never done," said Anderson.
