BCCI had already stated the next three seasons of IPL seasons will begin in March. The coming season of the league will witness some of the leading players having switched their sides. Rishabh Pant was brought for a massive INR 27 crores and will turn out for Lucknow Super Giants. The former Delhi Capitals skipper is the costliest player in the league’s history.

Kolkata Knight Riders are the defending champions having won the title after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad in a one-sided final. This was the third title for KKR and their first in a decade which came under Gautam Gambhir as the mentor of the side. MS Dhoni is set to play his 18th season in the league after being retained by Chennai Super Kings as an uncapped player.

Indian selection for Champions Trophy delayed?

It has come to light that the Indian selection committee is set to meet within a week to pick their team for Champions Trophy 2025. According to the rules, all the participating sides had to submit their teams by 12th January. Rohit Sharma as per reports is set to lead the side but Jasprit Bumrah is a massive doubt for the tournament.

The 31-year-old as per reports carried by Indian Express has swelling on his back. Bumrah is on his way to the National Cricket Academy and will be monitored by experts. The right-arm pacer was the best bowler during the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy picking 32 wickets with three fifers and was named the player of the series.

One BCCI source while speaking to Indian Express said “Bumrah will be going to NCA for his rehabilitation. The initial report says he doesn’t have a fracture but has swelling on his back. So the NCA will monitor his recovery and he will be there for three weeks. But even after that, he will have to play a match or two, even if they are practice games organised to check his match fitness,”
